The kids were excited to get back to school this morning and I was equally, if not more, excited to head to my craft room and get back to business! It was a fabulous Christmas break and we were very fortunate to be able to share many visits with family near and far. Spending time with loved ones is what it’s all about for me! As I age I am realizing that there is nothing that comes close to competing with creating memories through stories, playing games together and just soaking up one another’s company. The yummy meals and snacks were also a plus, as we indulged on treats that we reserve for these special occasions. I know my pants are a lot tighter than they were 2 weeks ago! I hope you were able to squeeze in some visits with those you hold near and dear and create some memories that you will look back fondly on as well. Hopefully you had more self control around the treats than I did.
As much as I enjoy the break from routine and the opportunity to gather, I am equally grateful for the return of said routine! I have lots of catching up to do as I confess to not working at ALL during the Holidays. As many of you know, I have set a goal for myself to create a Blog post each week. Mondays will be my goal to publish but I am sure that from time to time life will get in the way and the post may get bumped a day or two. I am so excited to be delving into this new tech world and I hope you are patient with me as I learn and grow. One of the other goals I have set for myself is to do a Facebook LIVE video each week and my goal is Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. Living in a rural setting and relying on satellite internet has its challenges. A good satellite internet connection is very dependent on weather. As we head into the blustery winter weather months, I apologize in advance for days that may be postponed due to weather. If you have made it this far, I want to thank you for joining me on this adventure and I hope you are excited to see what comes from it as well.
On to business! My focus today will be on my January Online Stamp of the Month Class. The initial registration for this class closes later tonight and the supplies will be ordered this evening as well. I like to get a jump on cutting the materials so that when the stamp sets arrive, I am ready to package the kits and ship them out as soon as possible. So there will be some material prep on tap for me this morning. New to Online Stamp of the Month? Let me tell you a little about how it works. When you register for an online stamp of the month class you receive the stamp set of the month, the supplies to create 2 fun cards and the instructions to create those cards via a video tutorial. I have a Facebook group that I send a link out to registrants to join and that is where I post the videos but also where I post alternate project ideas for the stamp set. Group members are encouraged to post their cards when they are done and to share alternate projects they make with the stamp set as well. It is very inspiring to see what others are creating!
Let’s take a look at the stamp set that was chosen for January Online Stamp of the Month.
This is such a fun stamp set and one that can be used in a variety of ways. If you love colouring you will love all the possibilities this set offers with it’s line images. It can be finished off any way you like! Here are the 2 cards that I have created for attendees this month. In the first card, I decided NOT to colour the full images. I chose instead to highlight only certain elements with a pop of pink. I used my Stampin’ Blends in Flirty Flamingo to achieve this. My card is only an example of what you can choose to do. Attendees are welcome to change up any aspects they wish by using or adding different colours, colouring with a different medium, stamping with another image from the set, changing the direction of the card, etc. The fun lies in the creating and I love seeing your alterations.
For the second card, I chose a different image and sentiment and also chose to colour the entire image. Attendees can easily switch out images and sentiments to suit their need and style. That’s half the fun!
My January Online Stamp of the Month Class is open to all Canadians. You can view the details below.
January Online Stamp of the Month Online includes your own copy of the Young At Heart stamp set and the supplies and instructions to make 2 great cards. You will be using your own inks and adhesives. I will post in the Facebook group each month any additional supplies that may be needed such as markers, sponges, etc.
You can choose to pick up your kit supplies for $35 if you are local or you can choose to have your kit mailed to you for $40. SOTM members will be sent a link to a Facebook group where a video with instructions for assembling your cards will be posted each month. You will be able to ask questions in the group and have access to samples of alternate ways to use your new stamp set. You are also welcome to share your creations with the group. That’s half the fun!
Please RSVP with payment by EMT to krissie-76@hotmail.com on or before January 6 to be included.
Registrations received after this date cannot be guaranteed to arrive within the month of January as the stamp sets have to be sent to me to be packaged before your kits can be shipped out to you.
Registration to past months is available as long as the stamp sets are still current. Please contact me for more information.
Leave me a comment to let me know if the Young at Heart stamp set is a Yay or Nay for you. I would also love your feedback on the cards I created with it. Thanks so much for stopping by.
